To create this piece I took lots of different layers of paper and used a sewing machine to sew them all together. The different layers of paper were made of a variety of things - photocopies of other work I have done, news papers, magazines, paper which I had painted on in different colours, etc. Once I had sewn them all together using lots of different stitches and directions of sewing, I used a scalpel to peel back some of the layers of paper to reveal others to create an abstract piece of imagery.
